End of Days
Well it looks like we are under house arrest for the foreseeable future. This Coronavirus has really ruined life here in Los Angeles. Everything is closed - restaurants, bars, stores, etc. Basically anything fun is closed! My social life is definitely going to suffer. And let's not even get started about how hard it is to teach 2 kids! Teachers are the ones who should be making millions.

Happy Birthday Buster
Last weekend we celebrated Busters 5th birthday at the house. He wanted a wild animal show, a balloon artist, and swimming. Of course I did all three! The animal show was really great. They had a hissing cockroach, fennec fox, milk snake, hedgehog, bunny, baby alligator, and a porcupine. I think the kids AND the adults loved it. Buster even had grandma make an airplane cake with snakes on. Everyone said it was absolutely delicious. There are days where I wish I ate dairy. Buster's birthday was one of them.

Home Sweet Home
There have been moments where I've considered selling our new house. Because we purchased it from the original owner - there is just so so so much to do!! It can be overwhelming at times. All of the bathrooms need to be redone. The kitchen desperately needs a makeover. And don't even get me started on the backyard and pool. The problem is I really really really LOVE it. I love that the original owner designed it with her cousin. I love that it is so big and open. I love that Olive and Buster love it.
I still have a long way to go - but I'm trying to take it room by room. Next up is the TV room/playroom. It needs some serious TLC.

Our new piano
I've been dreaming about this piano for over a year. I've searched endlessly on eBay, craigslist, etsy, 1st dibs, and any estate sale in any state I could find. Unfortunately, I was usually a few days late or a few dollars short. A little over a week ago I found one!!! Thankfully it all worked out and it's getting picked up in the next week or two! I'll update with photos when it's travelled across the country and is here in Los Angeles.

Vintage Photo Booth
Here's the thing - I LOVE PHOTOBOOTHS. I've always loved them. I've been to almost every one in Los Angeles and have over 100 strips to prove it. Unfortunately, a lot of the old photobooths have been replaced with digital ones. I can't believe that people actually think the digital photostrips are anywhere remotely as cool as the analog ones.
A couple of months ago, I started dreaming about having a booth in our house. So I did A LOT of research. And called A LOT of people. I ended up finding someone who had a beautiful vintage one for sale. The only problem was that it wasn't working. So I did A LOT of research and called A LOT of people. I found someone that serviced my favorite booths in Los Angeles and somehow convinced them to look at the broken Photo Booth. They were able to fix it.....and now I'm just trying to figure out if we can actually have one in our house. Developing story...

Summer is Over
Even though summer is officially over - we've been trying to use our pool as much as we can! It's going to be crazy hot this weekend and I, for one, will be taking a dip in our newly heated pool!

Outdoor Styling
The outside of our home needs some serious TLC. Last month we started on a landscaping project and we are still not finished with it. We had a ton of diseased white oleanders (they're poisonous too!) that had to be removed. Once we removed them - we realized that our pool equipment was a real eye sore from the street. Cut to - buying all new pool equipment and creating a white fence so it wasn't visible. Now we are just waiting on our live oaks, junipers, and vines to be planted.
Now I want to spruce up the outside patio off the master bedroom. I'm currently obsessed with this loveseat from CB2 - and feel like all the other elements will look cute together.

Wallpaper
When Andrew and I first saw our house - I fell in love with it and the wallpaper. Our living room, staircase, and office had this cool creamy/orangey textured wallpaper. Unfortunately, it was super duper old and had to be removed. Now - we have just plain white walls. A little boring but still nice and bright. I've been searching online to find something understated but still fun.
This one is my absolutely favorite. The gold foil dots are soooooo darn cute - and I feel like it would look great with all of our furniture. Especially because we have a lot of gold accents.
I also like this one because of the gold - but it might be a little much. I have samples coming - so we will know soon enough!
I love this pattern and the copper detailing - but it might be a little busy for our walls. I might save it for a bathroom or the laundry room though. It's soooooo good.
This wallpaper has a little more color in it with the copper and blue. It could look really cool in our living room with all of our bright furniture. It's my second favorite as far as what I think would look best in the space.
I also really like this one but feel like I need to see it in person. Do you see the pattern of all the gold/silver foil details? I can't help myself!
We will see what we end up deciding on. I cannot wait to start wallpapering. Will keep you posted.

Home Sweet Home
It feels like our house will never be finished. There are always new things I'm pining after or other items that need to be replaced. Here are a few of my favorite things at the moment.

Glass Project
A few weeks ago I posted a picture of a colored glass wall that I wanted to try in our hutch. Well - it's almost completed. How pretty are all the glasses? I looooooove it!

New Project
I'm back from Mexico (I promise to post pics soon) and I'm trying to take my mind off both kids being sick. Olive has strep and Buster has an awful cold. Although an early morning trip to urgent care will confirm if he has strep too. Of course - I'm worried I'll get my rash again. Especially because before I left for Mexico I was completely clear. It took 3 long months and a great deal of patience. Not so sure I'll be quite as patient this time around. Cross your fingers and your toes for me. I'm taking a round of antibiotics just to be safe.
In any case - I found this picture on my instagram of a friend of a friends house. I'm completely OBSESSED with this wall of colored glass. My nana used to collect carnival glass and had shelves similar. However - her glass was all amber colored. For the last few weeks I've been collecting as much vintage colored glasses as I can. I'll post a picture when it's close to being done.

Olive's Room
I took photos of Olive's room awhile ago, but had to take more pictures since it's changed so much since we moved in. I'm sure it will change 100 more times until she is a teenager. Currently she has requested more red and less pink.

Buster's Room
I've been meaning to post pictures of the kids rooms for awhile now. Unfortunately - they always seem to be a messy disaster. In any case - here is Busters room!
