Little Teeth

Buster finally sprouted another tooth on the bottom. Unfortunately for us it seems like his top teeth are coming out as well.

* on a side note - LOOK AT THOSE LASHES!

buster sez knock you out

about 3 months ago kim was laying in bed with buster when he flopped his head back and cracked her square in the nose.  at the time kim swore that it was broken but i couldn't believe that our innocent little 6 month-old could do such damage.  plus she didn't have any sort of bruising, bleeding, and her nose looked just as lovely as it did before the 'assault'.

also around the same time kim kept getting sick with low grade colds and sinus infections.  we never imagined the two events were related until... kim started googling why she was still sick, and wouldn't you know that a deviated septum caused by a broken nose could cause reoccurring sinus infections. one quick trip the the doctor confirmed it - buster did indeed break kim's nose and deviated her septum.

it's unclear exactly what to do about it, the options range from nothing to a nose-job.  i'm sure there will be many more entries about this one.

Photoshoot Smilebooth

Yesterday we had a photoshoot for just the kids with a photographer that I really like. (you can check out their portfolio here.) The best part??? They had a smile booth set up to get the kids warmed up for pictures. Here are a few of my favorites!

Olive & Buster Update

OLIVE UPDATE

- Weighs 30 pounds
- Has gotten far more adventurous when it comes to food. She is starting to try everything. It doesn't always stay in her mouth….but she at least tries it. Today for example - she ate CARROTS! I was dipping them in hummus and she said "Mommy - I want to have one." No joke she had about 8 of them!
- Goes to the bathroom all by herself.
- Told me that she didn't love me the other day. Even though she is only 3 - it was like a knife in my heart. She knows to NEVER say that again.
- Still obsessed with pacifiers. Believe me - we are working on it. Sort of.
- Loves to sing all the songs from 'Frozen'. Her favorite is "Do You Want to Build a Snowman".
- Her new favorite game is to pick someone's name and tell you what letter it starts with. She sounds it out and everything.
- Doesn't like posing for photos. (See above)
- Is going to be an adrenaline junkie. Every day she asks Andrew "Daddy, am I big enough to ride Splash Mountain?"
- Says that Filip is no longer her prince. She's got a thing for our 5 year old next door neighbor, Will.

BUSTER UPDATE

- Weighs 22.5 pounds
- Has one tooth out on the bottom and the other is just starting to poke through.
- So much better about the car. He falls asleep easily in his carseat and (for the most part) hardly cries when he's alone in the backseat.
- Already broken someone's nose. (More on that later)
- Poops 5+ times a day. I'm not even joking. I'm definitely bringing it up at his next doctor's appointment. That's not normal, right?
- Eats everything in sight - if you put it in front of him, he will devour it.
- Goes to sleep sooooo easily. I pretty much feed him, give him a kiss on the cheek and say "It's time to go night night", and put him in his crib awake. He rolls over and chills until he falls asleep.
- "Cruising" around every piece of furniture in the house. I swear that kid is going to be walking any day now.
- Loves bath time. After dinner he crawls to the bathroom just to watch the tub fill up. I think it's his favorite part of the day.
- Far less interested in nursing than he used to be. It makes me a little sad - but I'll be happy to be able to wear my pretty bras again!

Dealing with Preschool Cooties

So…..I'm sick again. It's been non-stop since November. I get a little better…..then back to the normal cold symptoms. After San Francisco I realized that something was not right and went to the doctor. Turns out I had a sinus infection and was given a course of antibiotics. I felt great after starting them - and all the cold symptoms went away. Then a few days ago - WHAM! Sore throat. Stuffy. Sickness. I'm OVER it. I hate being sick and feeling like I just can't kick it is driving me absolutely NUTS. I've got another doctors appointment this week - so hopefully they can make it all better. Even though I blame the initial sickness on preschool cooties - I'm not sure I can blame it on that now. Especially because Olive seems as healthy as a horse! Thank goodness for that.

Disney Autographs

A few months back we bought Olive a Disney autograph book so she could get all of her favorite  characters signatures. We finally remembered it last week! It was seriously the cutest thing ever watching her go up and ask for autographs. We even made prints of most of these pictures and put them next to the signatures in her book.

Little Royals Tea

On Saturday afternoon we headed to to the Hotel Bel-Air for the Little Royals Tea. Although it was geared for little ones - the service was SLOW SLOW SLOW. And with distractible toddlers… it was not as relaxing as I would have hoped. The food was good, but with the hefty price tag - I'll wait to take Olive  again when she is a little older and can appreciate it!

* will post a link for the article I wrote for Focus: Brentwood when it comes out about our afternoon.
