Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Monday morning Olive and I went to the Grove to run a few errands. I couldn't resist putting her on Santa's lap and getting a picture. Unfortunately she wasn't as into it as I thought she would be. Oh well, there's always next year.

Happy B-Day Sabrina!

Monday afternoon we met everyone at Douglas Park to celebrate Sabrina's 1st birthday. Look how cute the birthday girl is with her mommy! It seems like all of Olive's little friends have finally turned one!

Of course Olive passed out on the way over to the park. I didn't want to wake her up so daddy left work for a little bit to relieve me. I was worried that Olive would sleep through the entire party! Thankfully she woke up and was able to play with her friends for a little bit.

As you can see from the picture - Georgia LOVES Andrew. Daddy has the magic touch!

I think this was the last of the birthdays until next year! Happy Happy Birthday Sabrina!

chompers galore

olive's little friends are all about the same age, they are all roughly the same height, roughly the same weight, and all began walking at roughly the same time.  but there is one area where olive is far more advanced than the others - her teeth.  at last count she had 12, with 3 more about to break through.  and for everyone else? 4, 6, some even with only 2.

i wonder if there is some way of capitalizing on all those teeth... maybe some sort of baby dental model?

Sunday = Fun Day with Aunt Joan Part 2

After Gymboree we drove to our local Home Depot to pick out a Christmas tree! We normally don't buy one this early, but Olive and I will be leaving for Sacramento in a few weeks and want to enjoy it for as long as possible. Surprisingly, we found "the one" after only looking at 2 trees! You can't beat it for $40 - Home Depot is the absolute best spot in LA to buy them.

The hardest thing about setting up the Christmas tree (besides wrangling a toddler), is getting it perfectly straight. Last year it took us quite a long time to get it right. Thankfully, we had Joan to help us this year - it is so much easier with 3 people!

I even put Olive in the adorable outfit that Joan's friend, Linda, got for her. It was perfect for decorating the tree. And since it was a gorgeous 80+ degrees out - it kept her nice and cool. I have to admit, it was a little strange getting a Christmas tree in this hot weather.  But I guess it beats the miserable, freezing cold snow!

And look what we got as an early Christmas present from Aunt Joan. How cute are these little guys? One thing is for sure - Olive LOVES them!

Sunday = Fun Day with Aunt Joan

After Daddy made a delicious breakfast on Sunday morning, we headed over to the Westside Pavillion for Gymboree. Aunt Joan was excited to go since she had read so much about it on the blog!

The last time we were at class, Olive realized she could open the door and go outside. I chased her around for about 20 minutes until I finally had to leave the class early. They definitely need to invest in a lock for the door! Thankfully Olive only made a break for it a few times today.

One of Olive's favorite things to do is push the air log. When she hears the song she knows EXACTLY what to do! I'm so glad that Joan was able to experience the class with us. Olive is such a lucky little girl to have so many people in her life that adore her.

Aunt Joan Comes to Visit

Saturday night we went to Pitfire Pizza for dinner. Andrew's parents met us there since they were driving Great Aunt Joan down to stay with us for the night.

Olive was moderately well behaved considering her recent antics. Thankfully Pitfire is the perfect place for unruly children - its loud and filled with a ton of kids!

Kid Space

Friday afternoon we packed up the car and headed to Pasadena to go to Kidspace. We tried to go a few weeks ago but they were closed! This time we made sure they were open and met Michelle, David and Georgia there.

Unfortunately, we were all a little disappointed with the museum. People RAVE about it, but we were not that impressed. The place was small and there weren't a lot of things for the kiddies to do.

With that being said - we were still able to get some great pictures of Olive. As soon as she saw this tricycle - she made a break for it and climbed on. Daddy made sure she had the proper safety equipment too!

The girls loved playing in the water pools. As you can see, Olive loved it a little too much - she wanted to climb in!

There wasn't much to see in the garden area - but there was a nice place for a photo op.

The best part of the afternoon was watching Olive play in the water jets. She LOVED it and got absolutely soaked. No wonder why they recommend bringing a towel and a change of clothes!
