Olive's Last Day of School

It's hard to believe that Olive's first year of preschool has come to an end. I'm so thankful that we found the perfect place for her.  She has a classroom full of best friends and truly loves going every day.  On weekends she asks - is there school today?  And when we are driving home from errands she always wants us to drive by and roll down her window so she can see it.  Andrew is trying to convince her that Stanford is just as fun.  I guess we will see in 12 years if that little bit of subliminal suggestion worked...

The Pacifier Fairy

For months we've been telling Olive the story of the "Pacifier Fairy".  At first she didn't really understand - and then I think it started to sink in. Pretty soon she was asking us if the fairy would bring her a dog in exchange for her pacis. Of course we said yes! A few weeks ago we made a box to put the pacifiers in when Olive was ready to give them up. Every morning she would declare that tonight would be the night. And every night she would say, "Not tonight mommy. Tomorrow night."

Well…..tonight she finally put them in the box and said goodbye. I told her I was so proud of her and we put them outside her door for the fairy to take.  Looks like I have to get her a dog now…..

Sleepy Time

Ever since Buster started teething - sleep hasn't exactly been great in the Cahn household. At best - he would wake up somewhere between 3am and 5am. And at worst - he would be up most of the night. It's always been hard for me to hear my babies cry so it was never really an option. But after a year of not sleeping - I had had enough. A few nights ago I decided to move us into the guest room and let him "cry it out". Thankfully it was for about 2 minutes and he fell back to sleep and didn't wake up again until 7am. The last few nights he has slept all night without so much as a peep. I can only hope this is how it will be FOREVER.

Bathtime!

It's hard to believe that Buster is 13 months old today. And that Olive is getting closer and closer to turning 4. It definitely makes me want to have another baby…..

Happy Daddy's Day!

Happy Fathers Day to the best daddy in the whole wide world. Our kids love you so so so so so so so so much! I'm not sure what we would do without your crazy wit and super hero patience.
