Valentine's Cookies

Last week we did a shoot at our house for Isabella's cookies. These pictures are my favorite, although there were sooooo many good ones.

San Francisco Treat - Part 4

Our last day in San Francisco was fun. We took the kids to the Exploratorium and then walked to the Ferry Building. After dinner - we headed to Battery Park to get a nice picture of the Golden Gate Bridge. Unfortunately it was later than we planned and the kids had already fallen asleep. Andrew volunteered to get the perfect shot for me and ended up falling off a 4 foot ledge. I'm not even kidding. The best part is that he still got the shot AFTER his mishap. Sometimes I really love my husband.

* for the record Andrew is ok. He skinned up his elbow, knee, and hip but didn't break anything.

Olive Olive Olive

I love this face.

It's hard to believe my little baby is 3 years old. She is talking up a storm and we are amazed by her every day. Along with how sweet she can be...sometimes she can be a real pain in the A$$. She's starting to test boundaries and put her foot down when she doesn't want to do something. She's definitely stubborn like her daddy. In those moments I wonder what it will be like when she is a teenager…..lord help me.

San Francisco Treat - Part 2

A Morning at the Park, San Francisco

The San Francisco Treat

Late friday night we packed up the car and headed to San Francisco for Todd and Lizzy's nuptial party. Even though leaving at 10pm wasn't the best idea - we still made it in plenty of time for the festivities AND had a great time in one of my favorite cities!

Here were the positives:
- We saved $1500 on airfare (I don't recommend waiting until the last minute)
- We had a car to drive around the city whenever and wherever we wanted

Here were the negatives:
- We had to drive 6+ hours with 2 kids at night both ways
- Mommy and daddy were beyond exhausted
- Had to stop in beautiful Coalinga at 2am and stay at a motel because we couldn't drive anymore
- We were only in the city for 32 hours
- Parking at the hotel was $65

New Years Resolution #1 - Cook More

I've had a lot of New Years resolutions over the years.  I'm not proud to admit that I haven't really stuck with any of them. I'm hoping this year will be a little different! New Years resolution #1 - COOK MORE. I'm off to a pretty good start so far. All last week I got up early and made breakfast for our little family. First up - Eggs in Toast. Super easy and quick. But the best part was that Olive actually ate it!

The next morning I made breakfast cupcakes. Also a quick and easy recipe. I thought they were pretty good, but Olive wasn't a huge fan. She liked them without the cream cheese/jam frosting.

Over the next couple days I made stuffed french toast, rainbow pancakes, and scrambled eggs. I even made a sweet ricotta pasta as a snack one day! The craziest part about the whole thing is that I've actually enjoyed it. I'm moving on to more elaborate meals next week.  Wish me luck!

*A special thanks to Auntie Lindsay for the awesome cookbook she got me for X-mas. I plan on using it all next week!

Teething Nightmare

The last 2 months have been rough on the Cahn household. It started when Olive brought some preschool sickness home and infected all of us. An entire month of being sick is no fun for anyone - let alone little ones. Buster STILL has the cough that started in November. Add the teething nightmare onto that and you've got 2 parents that haven't had a full nights sleep in a loooooooong time. Between the rocking, bouncing, and driving Buster around in the middle of the night - it's been one heck of a time. I can see his teeth underneath the gums, but they still haven't broken through yet. It seems like he has been teething for MONTHS!

I love my kids - but I'm looking forward to the time when I can lay my head on my pillow for longer than 2 hours!
