This Little Family of Mine

The last month has definitely had its ups and downs. The doctors confirmed that I have a rare form of guttate psoriasis that was caused by a strep infection. I still have a rash on the majority of my body and it could take months to go away. (IF it goes away....) A bit discouraging, but I'm trying to stay positive. I keep telling myself it could be a lot worse.

In happier news - Olive was off for Spring Break so we spent some time in Newport, had a girls day (we cut 4 inches off of her hair), went to the movies and saw Zootopia, colored Easter eggs, and went mini golfing. All in all, it's been a GREAT week!

MAMAS

A couple of weeks ago my mom came to see the kids for a few days before going to Palm Springs for my sisters horse show.  We took Buster to Union Station to watch the trains and she was the mystery reader in Olive's class on Thursday. I only wish she lived closer - the kids and I ADORE her.

Big Boy Undies

Guess who's been potty trained for the last few weeks.........

Shots on the Go

Moonlight Rollerway

A few weeks ago we decided to take the kids roller skating at Moonlight Rollerway. I thought for sure they would like it since I was obsessed when I was younger. Buster refused to put the skates on. Olive couldn't find her balance and I had to hold her up most of the time. Still - I had fun. I think I might need to go back without the kiddies.......

Pictures From Awhile Ago

I have been so behind in blogging lately. I have at least 10 entries to do. Hopefully I'll get them all done by this weekend. Here's to wishful thinking anyway.

These pictures are from a few weeks ago when we spent some time in Newport.

Down for the Count

It's been a crazy week in the Cahn household. A few days ago I was carrying Buster and tripped. It's the craziest thing when something like that happens. It's like your life flashes before your eyes. But in this case it is "how do I make sure my baby won't get hurt", "how can I position my body so I don't break any bones". Needless to say - with him in my arms I couldn't get my balance right to stop from falling. We both ate it. HARD. I got the brunt of it on my knee and hand, while Buster skinned the s%&! out of his back. I've never felt like a worse mother.....and it wasn't even my fault! Just hearing my poor baby scream......and to see the huge road rash on his side was enough to make me want to cry.  Thankfully it's been a few days and we are both healing nicely. He said to me the other day "Mommy my back fine. I ok." I mean....cutest thing ever.

Also - I've had an unexplained rash for the last couple of weeks that has gotten progressively worse.  I bought new lotion, went out into the sun and a few days later had a rash all over my entire body. I figured it was an allergic reaction and didn't think anything of it. Until....it started getting WAAAAAAAAAAY worse. Then I started freaking myself out on webmd.  I finally made an appointment with the dermatologist and they said it could be an allergic reaction but looked more like a very rare form of psoriasis. They did a biopsy and ran a bunch of blood tests so I should know more next week.  I keep trying to tell myself that it could be a lot worse.

The darn time change hasn't helped either!

Balboa Fun Zone

After spending time on the beach - we headed to the Balboa Fun Zone so the kids could eat and ride the ferris wheel. To be honest - I feel like the adults had just as much fun as the little ones! Those balboa bars are my absolute favorite.

Bay Island Beach Time

Now that Olive is in "real" school - I'm always scrambling to find things to do when she is off for the day. Presidents Day we decided to go to Bay Island with a friend of hers from class. The weather could not have been more perfect. I'm pretty sure I ended up with a sunburn!

Email Malfunction

For some reason my email notifications are not working when I post a new entry. For those of you that rely on these - you'll have to check the blog until I can get it fixed!

Olive's Room

I took photos of Olive's room awhile ago, but had to take more pictures since it's changed so much since we moved in. I'm sure it will change 100 more times until she is a teenager. Currently she has requested more red and less pink.
