Instagram Fix

Six months ago my instagram stopped working. I could no longer like photos, make comments, or upload any pictures. The only solution was to create a new account. A week ago - the same thing happened. For days I wondered what the problem could be?  Was it my phone or was I uploading photos incorrectly? Whatever the case - I wasn't happy about it. I love my instagram and I was having serious withdrawals. I even went so far as to buy a new iPhone (in all honesty - I was due up for a new one) - and even that didn't fix it!

Last night in the middle of cold chills and hot flashes - I had an epiphany. Maybe I was having problems because I had recently added my blog address to my profile information? Even though it seemed far fetched at the time - I had to try. The crazy thing was - it worked!!! To be sure, I logged into my old account and deleted my website. Yup - fixed. I could like any photo, comment, and upload pics. Unfortunately for me, my discovery was after I created a new email address and instagram account. Ooops.

Here….Kitty Kitty Kitty.

The entire Cahn household has the flu. Everyone, that is, except for Buster. It's been pretty darn miserable for the past week.

But before all that unpleasantness hit us we visited our friend Chris and the four kittens he fosters. Olive loved the little guys, and surprisingly so did Buster - he would crawl right over and try to pet them. Unfortunately Buster's idea of petting is to grab a fist full of fur and try and pull it as hard as possible. I'm assuming he'll grow out of that.

Ice-Skating Anyone?

Olive has been asking every day to go ice-skating. We struck out last wednesday when we drove to the Promenade and the outdoor rink didn't open until 2pm. So finally after school on friday we decided to take her to the indoor rink in Culver City.

We made it around the rink once. Olive wanted to stop half way through because she said it was "too slippery". So we sat and had a hot cocoa and watched all the little ones doing turns and jumps. After a few minutes - so got up and we went back on the ice and completed our 1 lap. Maybe next time we will get around it twice…….

by the numbers

when we found out kim was pregnant one of the first purchases we made was our faithful Nikon D90. the thought was that it would be important to capture all of the adorable crap our new addition would amaze us with.  That was a little more than 3 years ago.

today i checked the total the shot count on the camera - 49,674.

it seems hard to believe, but if you do the math that works out to roughly -

45 pictures a day

every day

for 3 years.

I Love These Faces

Sometimes I can't believe that I'm married with two little ones. Deep down I still feel 25 years old. There are moments where I miss the old spontaneity of life. But honestly - I wouldn't change anything for the world. These three people are the most important things in my life. Andrew is an amazing, involved husband and daddy. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. Olive is still the sweetest little girl and I think she will always be my baby. When she looks at me and says, "Mommy - you and daddy and Buster are my best friend" - it melts my heart. And Buster....I mean...look at that face!. He seems to be constantly smiling and laughing. I cannot wait to see what he's like in the next couple months. My life is a constant adventure with this group. I love you all so very, very much.

Family Comes First

There is nothing more important than family. Now that I have my own - I realize that more than ever. I have so much respect for my mom. Having kids is hard work. Rewarding, amazing, and pretty much the BEST THING EVER - but it's f-ing hard sometimes. Thankfully there are far more good days then bad!

Olive & Buster Update

OLIVE UPDATE:

- Got a big girl bed for her birthday and sleeping soundly in it!
- Her new favorite game is "Hawaii". Basically she packs up her 2 suitcases and we both pretend to get on an airplane and fly to either Hawaii, Italy, or Mamas' house!
- Loves to draw. Her go to's are rainbows, water, ghosts, and daddy and olive.
- We can add fish sticks to the list of things she will eat. Granted it was at Nobu in Hawaii - but we are going to try it again soon.
- No longer taking an afternoon nap. On one hand it sort of sucks - but on the other, she now goes to bed early!
- Is in pre-school 3 days a week and loves loves loves it.
- Has a new best friend every week. Although the majority of the time her best friends are daddy, mommy, and buster.
- Has a new found interest in ballet. She asks every day if she can go to class.

BUSTER UPDATE:

- He is crawling! Granted it's not a full blown crawl - but he is 95% there (I promise to post a video soon).
- Saying Ma-Ma. Even at 5am it's pretty much the cutest thing ever.
- Still hates driving in the car, which makes it extremely difficult for mommy to do anything.
- Loves new people. He smiles and laughs at every person who talks to him.
- Eating solids. So far his favorite is sweet potatoes.
- Is obsessed with our iphones. He doesn't understand how they work - but he loves chewing on them.
- His hair is finally starting to grow back.
- Still hasn't sprouted a tooth. We keep telling ourselves it will happen any day now - but are consistently disappointed when there is no sign of one!

Hawaii - More Pics

A few more pictures from our trip to Hawaii.

Hawaii - The Lodge

The Lodge is the sister hotel to the Four Seasons Manele Bay. We decided to spend an afternoon there since it was so different from our beach hotel. It was a nice change of pace - and the grounds were absolutely breathtaking. We told ourselves we would definitely go back just to stay a few nights there!
