i'm not sure who started the tradition of showering children with presents on their birthday, but i think the real celebration should be for the mother. after all - all the kid does is be born; they're just there for the ride, it's the mom who does all the work.
so on the occasion of olive's 3rd birthday i'd like to give my wife credit where credit is due. she works all day (and night) taking care of every need of both of our children - mostly without complaint or hesitation. i can't give you enough praise for all the work you do!
