stacking is fun

like some sort of demented alarm clock, olive has taken to waking up everyday at 6:30am.  apparently there is too much fun to be had during the day.  i have a number of well reasoned arguments against this, but when i start to explain them to her all she does is is chew on her finger and drool.

so if there is no other option, why not use that time for educational purposes?

olive has one of those wooden stacking ring toys that i'm sure we've all had as children.  she loves it.  more correctly - she hates it.  she hates to see it with the rings stacked on it - if she spies it in the corner of her eye, she'll run over to it and dump it over.  so every morning i've been teaching her how to stack them back up.  for a while it fell on deaf ears, but then she slowly started figuring it out -
