Happy Birthday Colin!

Last weekend the whole family was supposed to go to Sacramento for Colin's 2nd birthday party. At the last minute Andrew got suckered into work, so I had to travel solo with the kids! After a horrific flight (which involved Buster having a MAJOR meltdown that lasted for almost 40 minutes) I swore I would never fly with him by myself again. Thankfully seeing the entire family made me forget about it pretty quickly.

San Diego Wild Animal Park

Last week we went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park with my mom, Ida, and the kids. We went on a special "Junior Explorers" behind the scenes tour. The little one got to pet goats and an owl-like bird, and feed meerkats, red river hogs, and catfish. The park is almost 2000 acres - so imagine all the space the animals have to roam! The only thing we missed out on was the hot air balloon and the zip-line tour.

After spending most of the afternoon walking around the park looking at animals - we stopped and had ice cream. I'm pretty sure that was the kids' favorite part! We also got front row seats to the cheetah run which was pretty darn cool. Thanks mom for a fantastic day!

Cousins

Monday afternoon I packed up the car and took the kids to Newport to spend some time with their cousins. Over the next 2 days we went to the Spaghetti Factory, Balboa Fun Zone (where Olive did back flips on the bungee!!!!!), arcade, San Diego Wild Animal Park, and back to the Fun Zone for more back flips. Family is one of the most important things - and I'm so glad that I adore mine!! 

Bay Island Bonanza

For the fourth of July we headed to Newport with friends to celebrate. We spent our days at the Fun Zone, playing on the beach, drinking, eating, and watching some cool fireworks on the beach. All in all -it was an amazing time. Especially because there were 8 little munchkins running around all over the place!
