Spring Break - San Luis Obispo

A month ago my mom and I took the kids on the train to San Luis Obispo for Spring Break. I 've been wanting to stay at the Madonna Inn and this was the perfect excuse!

The hotel was just as cozy as I thought it would be. The rooms all have themes and there are cows and horses everywhere. We left a day earlier than planned - so we were able to stay in the room that I had been dying to stay in. The Carin is an entirely pink room with pink sequin wallpaper and a cupid chandelier above the pink bed. I have to say.......I LOVED it. After the first night we switched to a much bigger room with a huge fireplace. Sadly, I don't have a picture of that room!

On our first night we decided to check out the Farmers Market. We had tri-tip sandwiches, roasted corn, and the best homemade donut holes I've ever had. The kids jumped in the bounce house and we checked out Gum Alley too. It's literally an alley that is filled with peoples chewed up gum.

The second day we had breakfast at the hotel and headed out to see the elephant seals. I was so busy taking videos and pictures on my phone that I didn't get any good pictures on my camera. On our way back we stopped into town and had more tri-tip sandwiches (they were seriously THAT good), checked out Gum Alley again, and had ice cream! That night we decided to get room service and relax.

On our third day we headed to Avila Valley Barn. The kids fed the animals, rode horses, played on tractors, had corn on the cob, and even sat with Easter Bunny!

After the farm the kids wanted to go to the beach. They played on the sand for awhile and then had sno-cones before we headed back to the hotel.  Since it was our last night in San Luis Obispo we ate at the Madonna Inn's steakhouse. After dinner there was a big band (with horns!) playing so we danced for awhile with the kids until they were tired and wanted to go back to the room. I'm kicking myself that I didn't bring my camera to take pictures. It really was the cutest thing ever.
