Happy Birthday Olive

Yesterday we had a small birthday party for Olive.  We swore we weren't going to have one since we had a big to-do for her 40 weeks.  But alas, I couldn't NOT have a little celebration for her 1st birthday!!!

We decided not to invite a ton of people - just family and our nearest and dearest.  Basically we had about 12 people over, including babies!  Of course Olive's bff, Georgia, was there.  Look how cute they are together.

Grandma and Grandpa Cahn came over early to help before the party started.  Thankfully Dan manned the taco station and Carolyn took care of all the fixings.  The pork and chicken were absolutely delicious.  I think I might have had 4 helpings!!

After we had lunch, it was time to open presents!  Olive received so many wonderful things.  Photos and a pretty dress from Auntie Christine and Uncle Garrett.  A sweet handmade photo book, touch and feel books, and an adorable outfit from Auntie Michelle, David, and Georgia.  A doll from Auntie Molly and Uncle Tim.  An owl puzzle from Auntie Becky and Lula.  A handmade ice cream cone sweater from Grandma Carolyn.  A basket filled with plastic veggies and fruit from great Aunt Joan.  A cat puppet and a jack-n-the-box from Uncle Todd and Auntie Liz.  And a few books and toys from mommy and daddy.

As you can see - Olive loves her little doll.  She even cried when I tried to put it away when she went to bed!

Finally it was time for homemade cupcakes!  I'm pretty sure it was the highlight of the day for Olive.  She got it everywhere - but looked absolutely adorable doing it.  More pictures to come.......
