Zoomars

Last week it was too dreary for the beach so we headed to Zoomars - a petting zoo in San Juan Capistrano. I wasn't sure if Buster would be interested in the animals…..but he LOVED it! He didn't want to leave. We had such a great time feeding the alpacas, goats, bunnies, and pig. We played in the corn pit, mined for gems, went on a pony ride, and rode the little train. 

Moodboard - 40th Birthday

I can't believe I'm going to be 40 in a few weeks. It sounds so OLD - but I feel so young! I guess it's really true that 40 is the new 20. In any case here are a few of my current favorite things.

Balboa Fun Zone

Grandma Carolyn came to Newport last week to spend Tuesday night with us. First stop - Balboa Fun Zone! Olive can do backflips on the bungee and loves to show off her new skills. As you can see in the picture - Buster was not happy about something. For the life of me, I can't remember what it was! He's a fickle little fella. Thank goodness he's cute.

DIY - Shells

Every morning we wake up and take a walk along the beach in search of the perfect sea shells. Olive usually finds the best ones. Since the color dulls when they dry - I decided to do a fun project to make them look bright and pretty all the time.

Here's all you need: Sea shells, mod podge spray, and wax paper.

After cleaning the shells - put them on the wax paper and spray. It's THAT easy. And look how amazing they look after.

* we bought the starfish at a cute little store on Balboa Island.

Picking Strawberries

Last weekend we decided to pick strawberries at Tanaka Farms. During our tractor ride to the fields we got to sample bok choy, carrots, onions, green beans, and celery. Surprisingly Buster tried everything and liked it. Olive, on the other hand, only liked the carrots. We left with 3 baskets filled with the juiciest strawberries ever!
