A few days before Christmas we took Buster to the Sacramento Train Museum in Old Sac. For some reason he thought we were going to ride the Polar Express. He went from being excited to scared to angry in a matter of moments. We barely could get him in the museum. Thankfully, when we finally did - he had a great time.

And…..We're Off!
We are heading up to Sacramento to spend the holidays with my family. I can't wait for the kids to see my moms enormous Christmas tree. Then we are going to Lake Tahoe so the kids can see snow and build a snowman! Then back to Los Angeles in time for New Years!

Moodboard - Kid's Christmas
We haven't had much luck on presents this year for Olive and Buster. Let's be honest - they pretty much have everything they want and don't need more plastic toys that are forgotten about in a few days. They are growing at an alarming rate and can always use shoes. I love finding books for them since we try and read to them every night. And since we are going to Tahoe after Christmas - they definitely need warmer clothes.

Here Comes Santa Claus!
It's always a little stressful when we plan a visit to see Santa Claus. This year was no different. We have been talking it up to Buster for weeks. He's been so excited to sit on his lap and tell him what he wants for Christmas (color changing cars..for the record). When we arrived at the Grove the line was LONG LONG LONG. We put our name in and they said they would text when it was our turn. Somewhere between explaining to Buster that we had to wait to see Santa and having breakfast - Buster had an EPIC meltdown. We're talking full blown screaming and throwing himself on the ground. It definitely wasn't his most shining moment. After 30 minutes of trying to calm him down I finally took him to the car to listen to music and relax. Thankfully that seemed to turn the day around for us. Daddy stayed in line and texted us when it was almost our turn.
Here's picture number one. Buster wasn't sure what to do. I think he was partly scared and partly mad that he had to sit on Santa's lap.
Here's picture number two. After screaming for me - and me replying "just one more picture Buster", he was resigned and upset that he would have to sit through another picture. Notice the cars on the ground that he threw out of his hands.
After that I picked him up and said "See…all done!" Then something interesting happened. Santa asked Olive what she wanted for Christmas and Buster looked right at him and said "Color Changing Cars". So I told him to sit back on Santa's lap and tell him so he could hear. And he did. This was the photo after he leaned in to tell him what he wanted.

Uh-Oh
The Cahn household has been hit with the flu! Olive came home from school on Wednesday and was sick all night and most of the day today. I'm hoping she's back to her normal self tomorrow and that little Buster doesn't get it. Cross your fingers for us!
