Olive and Buster Update
OLIVE UPDATE:
- Loves to draw rainbows and flowers.
- Has started to try a lot of new things to eat. She now will eat sole, pesto pasta, cpk's mac'n'cheese, pineapple, and peanut noodles.
- Sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night calling for daddy. She claims she doesn't like to sleep alone.
- Refuses to wear bows in her hair.
- In ballet and tap class with 5 and 6 year olds. She LOVES LOVES LOVES it.
- Has a booster seat in the car and refuses to sit in her "baby" carseat now.
- Her favorite songs to sing on the radio are "All of Me", "Roar", "Stay With Me", and "All About the Bass". I love turning up the volume and hearing her little voice sing the words - CUTEST. THING. EVER.
- Can write every letter in the alphabet.
- Talks about her birthday EVERY day. She loves to say, "Mommy - is my birthday tomorrow?"
- Really, really, really, really wants a puppy. Her birthday is coming up….

BUSTER UPDATE:
- Obsessed with spatulas. He even takes them to bed with him! It's pretty much the cutest thing ever.
- So easy to put to sleep. Right at 7pm we lay him in his crib, say "night night" and walk out. He never ever cries. And he sleeps until at least 7am!
- Still eats anything and everything.
- Loves to watch Mickey Mouse. It's the first thing he wants in the morning and the last thing he wants at night.
- Enjoys hitting people when he doesn't get what he wants. Although he's getting better - I swear.
- Repeats everything. His vocabulary is growing by the minute. He's going to be talking in full sentences by the time he is 2!
- Sensitive. If I raise my voice and tell him "No!" - he sometimes bursts into tears.
- Tough. When he falls, trips, or gets hurt - he barely makes a peep.
- Chases every dog in the neighborhood. He loves loves loves animals. Thankfully he understands the word "gentle" now, so he doesn't rough them up.
- Takes the broom at Olive's school every day when we drop her off. He LOVES to sweep. I wish he would do it around our house!

The Trials and Tribulations of Being a Mom
Yesterday was a rough day. Not because of anything in particular….it was just a culmination of everything. It was sweltering outside so we stayed in for most of the day and watched tv. Which of course made me feel guilty. I'm not sure why since I LOVED tv as a kid and don't remember it being regulated. In any case I didn't feel like a very good mom. Especially after a long day of doing laundry, Buster refusing his nap, cleaning up the always messy playroom, and trying to keep the kids from fighting all afternoon. Sometimes it's hard to be a mom 24/7 and not snap!

Happy Birthday India
Before we left for Mexico we went to Disneyland for India's birthday. We had such a fun day celebrating with her. Surprisingly, the lines were short and we were able to do almost everything we wanted.
