I couldn't resist these amazing Nike's for our little guy.

Pumpkin Patch
From these pictures you wouldn't think Grandpa Dan was with us at Underwood Family Farms - but he was! Olive absolutely loved picking out pumpkins, riding the horses, and running around. If it hadn't been so hot out - we probably would have stayed a lot longer!

the results are in...
i can tell by the number of votes in kim's poll that there is a groundswell of interest in the sex of our new progeny. well the long, long wait is over, we have the doctor results...
but first lets reflect on the amazing progress modern medicine has achieved in the past 30 years. when my mom wanted to find out if she was pregnant with me she had to go to a doctor for a test that involved killing a rabbit. fast forward to today when a doctor took a vial of blood from kim and can map the new little one's dna with 99% certainty.
but without further delay - the news you've all been waiting for... we're having a BOY!
(below is an artistic rendering of what little buster will most likely look like)

1st Trimester Blues
To be honest - this pregnancy hasn't really agreed with me. I keep telling myself that I felt this sick with Olive, but the truth is - I don't remember it ever being this bad. For one thing I have no energy, and even worse - I can't sleep at night. Throw a rambunctious toddler in there and it seems a lot harder than before. Thankfully I'm almost into my second trimester - which means I should be feeling better soon! Believe me, I'm ready for a night on the town.

Happy Birthday Georgia!
It's officially baby birthday season. First up - Georgia, then Olive, then Henry, then Ruby. And I'm almost positive there are a few other little ones sprinkled in there! In any case, last weekend we celebrated Georgia's 2nd birthday. As you can tell from my lack of photos - I wasn't feeling too hot. Happy Happy Birthday Georgia. We love you!

Girl or Boy?
Earlier this week Andrew and I had an appointment for genetic counseling. Although I was considered "older" when I had Olive - we never sat down with anyone to give them a complete family history. Interestingly enough they have a new blood test that can detect chromosomal abnormalities - specifically downs syndrome. I, of course, wanted it immediately. As an added bonus, the test can also detect the sex of the baby! Basically in a few days I will know if we are having a boy or a girl!

Olive's Birthday Party
Saturday we had a big party for Olive's 2nd birthday. Thankfully my mom, her friend Carolyn, and Andrew's parents came early to help us set up. I could not have done it without them! Andrew even stayed up late the night before making the cookie jars we gave to everyone when they left. A little after the party got underway - there was a knock on the door. Minnie and Mickey (also known as Mr. & Mrs. Mouse for copyright purposes) came to sing Olive Happy Birthday and take pictures with all the kids. As you can tell from Olive's face - she was more than a little excited! Although I think her favorite part might have been when she got to blow out her birthday candles. We had to relight them a few times because she kept saying "More! More!".

Happy Birthday Olive!
Two years ago today, my sweet little angel was born. It's so crazy to think that she is two already! She fills our days with such joy and laughter that I can't even imagine my life before her. Happy Birthday Olive - mommy loves you more than I can ever say.
I promise to post more pictures from her birthday party on Saturday.....
A Magic Forest
Last week we went to the Magic Forest in Culver City with Michelle and Georgia. The girls loved it! Olive's favorite thing to do was pour water from one cup to the other. It's such a cute little place with lots of handmade toys for kids to play with. They even have food and coffee! We will definitely be going back soon.
